Title: Senior Applications User Interface / Interaction Designer


Location:
US / MA / BOSTON METRO-WEST / UIF Designer


The Job:

  • Help build new solutions for current and new products.
  • Provide full life-cycle solutions, turn ideas into attractive, customer “wowing” solutions to solve important customer challenges.
  • Solutions need to be easy and elegant, deliver full user satisfaction, and delight the client.


Responsibilities:

  • Think strategically in delivering end to end user experience with all focus on user needs and business goals. Deliver all design criteria, from delivering concepts and prototypes, to User-Interface specifications.
  • Turn visions into concepts, converting those concepts into designs that illustrate elegance solutions despite system complexity.
  • Lever rapid-prototyping and frequent customer interactions to influence design directions.
  • Use sound judgment to suggest solutions optimize the balance among customer needs, business constraints, and technical realities.
  • Remain current with new technologies and industry trends.
  • Effectively collaborate with all departments (design, research, engineering, product management, marketing, and other members of the team)
  • Utilize leadership skills to impel to the best outcome for stakeholders, provide a rich, learning experience to teammates, and draw others to desire to work with you because of those abilities.
  • Participate and foster the corporate design community.


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in product or interaction design, human factors, graphic design or related field.
  • Five (5)-plus years if UIF (user-interface) design with Web applications and Websites, Desktop, or Mobile Applications.
  • Experienced in delivering high volume, high profile or award winning websites or products is nice, but not necessary.
  • Senior or extensive experience and skill set with impelling and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management and user research
  • Experience with design software such as Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Experience with Ajax, DHTML, Flash or other RIA (Rich Internet Application) technologies.
  • Skilled in an array of methods to convey ideas and concepts (ex. Prototypes, wireframes, etc.)
  • Effective communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Creative problem solver with ability to work with a blank slate and inspire others.
  • Must have a strong portfolio available for viewing.
